Regent Central University's Expired Accreditation Status Clarification

Mar 12, 2024

The International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-Tertiary & Higher Education (QAHE) would like to issue a clarification regarding the expired accreditation status of Regent Central University. It has come to our attention that Regent Central University, based on their website [https://www.regentcentraluniversity.com/accreditation], has been misrepresenting their accreditation status by stating that they are accredited by QAHE. We would like to make it clear that Regent Central University's accreditation with QAHE expired on November 16, 2023. QAHE is a reputable organization dedicated to recognizing and accrediting higher education institutions that meet rigorous standards of educational quality, research performance, and student services. Accreditation is a continuous process, and institutions must maintain ongoing compliance with the established criteria to retain their accreditation status. QAHE would like to emphasize that it is not our usual practice to publicly announce the expiration of an institution's accreditation. However, in cases where an institution refuses to remove or clarify their accreditation status upon failure to renew or expiration, we find it necessary to provide clarification to safeguard the interests of students, parents, and stakeholders. Regent Central University's claim of current accreditation by QAHE is erroneous and misleading. We have not extended our accreditation to Regent Central University beyond the expiration date of November 16, 2023. As of that date, Regent Central University is no longer accredited by QAHE. QAHE would like to advise students, parents, and stakeholders to exercise caution and verify the current accreditation status of any institution before making educational decisions. It is crucial to rely on accurate and up-to-date information provided by recognized accrediting bodies. We urge Regent Central University to rectify their misrepresentation and refrain from making false claims regarding their expired accreditation status. For any further inquiries or clarifications, please contact QAHE directly through our official website.
