We are pleased to announce that the International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-Tertiary & Higher Education (QAHE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Industrial Safety Council of Nigeria (NISCN: www.niscn.gov.ng), Nigeria’s first and oldest safety organization.
Established in 1964 by a Federal Government cabinet decision under the sponsorship of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment in line with ILO Convention 187 (Promotional Framework for Occupational Safety and Health Convention), NISCN is a non-profit making tripartite organization consisting of Government (Federal and States), Employers (NECA) and workers representatives (NLC and TUC) and all other national Occupational Safety and Health bodies.
Under the terms of the MOU, QAHE and NISCN will collaborate to promote and advance quality assurance in pre-tertiary and higher education, as well as occupational safety and health in Nigeria and beyond. The partnership will involve sharing knowledge, expertise and resources, as well as organizing joint events and initiatives.
"We are excited about this partnership with NISCN, which is a recognized leader in the field of occupational safety and health in Nigeria," said the spokesperson of the Accreditation Committee of QAHE. "By working together, we can make significant progress in our shared mission of promoting quality assurance and safety in education and the workplace."
This partnership between QAHE and NISCN marks an important step towards achieving our shared goals of promoting excellence in education and a safe and healthy work environment. In addition, we are proud to announce that Dr. Festus C. Daniel, National President of NISCN, has been appointed as Honorary Regional Director for the West African Region and Honorary Fellow of the International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-Tertiary & Higher Education (QAHE).
