Sandro Serpa is an accomplished scholar and educator who has made significant contributions to the field of sociology, particularly in the areas of sociology of education, sociology of organizations, and the emerging field of digital society.
As an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the University of the Azores, Serpa has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service. With a diverse academic background, Serpa holds a PhD in Education with a specialization in Sociology of Education, a Master's in Sociology, a post-graduate degree in Sociology of Religions, and a Bachelor's in Sociology.
Serpa's impressive academic record is further highlighted by his leadership roles within the university. He has served as the Head of the Sociology Department, a Member of the Board of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the former Director of the Bachelor's in Social Work program.
