Monetary Authority Singapore Chief FinTech Officer Sopnendu Mohanty has been honored by GAFM with Sopnendu Mohanty Honored with 'Master FinTech' Certification

QAHE (International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-tertiary and Higher Education) and GAFM (Global Academy of Finance and Management) have recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on institutional accreditation in the field of education and training. Under this partnership, QAHE has been authorized by GAFM as their assessor for accreditation purposes.

In a recent development, Monetary Authority Singapore (MAS) Chief FinTech Officer Sopnendu Mohanty has been honored by GAFM with the prestigious 'Master FinTech and Regulatory Innovation Professional' Certification. This certification recognizes Mohanty's relentless efforts and contributions to the fintech and fintech regulatory innovation spheres.

The certification was presented to Mohanty by Rajkumar Kanagasingam, the GAFM Representative in Sri Lanka and the Maldives, during the Singapore FinTech Festival held at the Singapore Expo on November 4, 2022.

Mohanty, known for his expertise and thought leadership in fintech, has played a vital role in driving the development strategies, public infrastructure, and regulatory policies around technology innovation since joining MAS in August 2015. Under his leadership, Singapore has emerged as one of the leading global fintech hubs, encompassing various financial asset classes and technological innovations in areas such as insurance, digital assets, blockchain, artificial intelligence, reg-tech, and green finance.

Prior to his role at MAS, Mohanty held various leadership positions in technology, finance, and innovation, accumulating over 20 years of experience, with a significant portion of his career spent at Citigroup.

Apart from his contributions to MAS, Mohanty serves as a member of multiple advisory committees for global agencies, associations, universities, and governments, providing valuable insights and guidance on fintech, innovation, and inclusion.

Mohanty actively engages with global technology and financial services ecosystems, spearheading collaborative initiatives such as API Exchange (APIX), Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF), Payment Rails, Data exchange platforms, and experimental programs like UBIN. He also chairs the Board at Elevandi, an independent legal entity established by MAS in 2021 to facilitate dialogue and advancement in fintech within the global digital economy.

The partnership between QAHE and GAFM signifies a significant step towards promoting quality assurance and accreditation in the education and training sectors.
