As a Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of the Azores, Serpa has consistently demonstrated a passion for delivering high-quality, student-centered education. Serpa’s dedication to educational excellence extends beyond the classroom. He has held several influential leadership roles within the university, including serving as Head of the Department of Sociology, Director of the Social Work Program, Coordinator of the Scientific-Pedagogical Supervision Team for Social Work Internships, Member of the Pedagogical Council, and Member of the Quality Commission. These positions have allowed him to shape educational policies, drive innovative pedagogical practices, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Sandro Serpa’s scholarly achievements are equally impressive. He has amassed an extensive publication record, with over 360 articles published in international journals, books, and other scientific outlets across a diverse range of countries. Dr. Toksobаeva is a highly accomplished scholar and educator with an impressive track record spanning over five decades. She received her doctoral degree in economics from the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in 2005, and has since made significant contributions to the field of quality assurance and management.

As a professor at the Kyrgyz Economic University since 2023, Dr. Toksobаeva has led groundbreaking research on product certification and quality management. She has authored two monographs that have established the scientific foundations of certification and standardization in Kyrgyzstan.

In addition to her research work, Dr. Toksobаeva has held several prestigious academic positions, including serving as the Dean of the Trade and Economic Faculty at the Kyrgyz Economic University from 2007-2008 and the Director of the Institute of Continuing Open Education from 2008-2021.

Tasawar Abdul Hamid Awarded Doctor of Management (Honoris Causa)

The International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-Tertiary & Higher Education (QAHE) has awarded Tasawar Abdul Hamid an honorary Doctor of Management degree.

The recognition honors Tasawar’s exceptional contributions to the oil and gas industry, as well as his distinguished career in business leadership and academic scholarship. Over the past 16 years, he has demonstrated a strong track record of driving innovation, optimizing operations, and fostering strategic partnerships in the sector.

In addition to his role as Managing Director at Blue Sky Oilfield Supply and Services (BSO), Tasawar has published several impactful papers on topics such as organizational development, green branding, and firm performance. As an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the University of the Azores, he has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service.

With a PhD in Education focused on the Sociology of Education, Professor Serpa has an impressive academic background that includes a Master’s in Sociology, a post-graduate degree in Sociology of Religions, and a Bachelor’s in Sociology. He has served in various leadership roles at the university, including as Head of the Sociology Department, Member of the Board of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, and former Director of the Bachelor’s in Social Work program.

Professor Serpa’s research record is equally impressive, with over 340 publications spanning articles, books, book chapters, and conference proceedings. He is an integrated researcher at the Interdisciplinary Centre of Social Sciences of the Azores (CICS.NOVA.UAçores) and a member of the Executive Council of the Portuguese Association of Professionals in Industrial, Organizations and Work Sociology (APSIOT). His research interests cover a wide range of topics, including teaching sociology, sociology of education, sociology of organizations, organizational culture, scientific communication, digital society, digital literacy, Society 5.0, and the sociology of artificial intelligence.
